Increase in project efficiency for a mid-sized government contractor.
About the firm
Federal Training & Facilities Group was founded on a straightforward conviction: leadership is a discipline that can be taught, practiced, and measured — and the people and facilities that carry a mission deserve the same standard of support.
People are your greatest asset and investment. Without people, nothing moves.
Robert M. Johnson, Jr. — President & Chief Executive Officer
Leadership is rooted in understanding human nature — what people need, how they behave, what they perceive, where they are strong, and where they struggle. Robert works from that starting point, and measures the work by whether an organization’s leadership actually improves: better decisions, steadier teams, performance that holds. That is the partnership he offers.

Our customers are our top priority.
President & Chief Executive Officer
Robert M. Johnson, Jr. spent thirty years in the United States Navy learning what actually makes people follow a leader. It was rarely rank.
In operational environments with a thin margin for error, he watched what held teams together: whether people trusted the person giving the order, whether they understood why, and whether they felt respected. Authority by itself never carried a hard day.
That observation is the basis of how he works now. Leadership is a human problem before it is an organizational one. People think and perform differently under pressure than they do in a briefing room, and a leader who hasn’t accounted for that gets surprised at exactly the wrong moment.
He founded Federal Training & Facilities Group to bring that thinking to federal agencies, alongside the operational support those agencies need to keep running.
He holds a Master of Science in Management and Leadership and a Bachelor of Administration in Acquisition and Contract Management, which lets him speak to a contracting officer and a first-line supervisor in the same week without changing gears. He is the author of Navigating Organizational Leadership, Volumes I and II, the author of the firm’s leadership doctrine, and the developer of the Pain Point Form.
No single leadership style fits every situation. People change, and leadership has to change with them.

Method
Personal growth, turned into organizational strength.
Robert’s leadership development method begins with core principles that shape character, discipline, and decision-making. He develops future leaders individually, turning personal growth into organizational strength. Those principles are set out in full in the firm’s leadership doctrine.
Every program is customized. We start by identifying your organization’s specific challenges through a structured Pain Point Form — a guided assessment that helps clients clarify what is actually getting in the way:
From those insights we design targeted training built to your mission, your goals, and your performance expectations — not to a fixed curriculum.
Published work
Robert M. Johnson, Jr. is the author of Navigating Organizational Leadership, Volumes I and II — practical guidance for leaders working inside real organizational constraints rather than idealized ones.
Both volumes have their own page, with the covers, excerpts from each foreword, and the ten leadership principles the books return to.
